Entertainment in Turks & Caicos

Back to Calendar of Events    |    Diving in Turks and Caicos

There is always something to do in Turks and Caicos that will entertain everyone and most importantly that will help you get into the groove of island life. If you are looking for a place to dance, head to Providenciales where local bands often perform or visit one of the several nightclubs and bars where you can enjoy a variety of music like calypso and reggae. If you would like to experience a live performance, check with local hotels as often they put on nightly shows for guests.

If you enjoy having fun in the water you have come to the right place as fishing and snorkeling are very popular in Turks and Caicos Islands. You can also experience the thrill of journeying beneath the sea in a real submarine. But, if you are not a fan of the water-based activities, there is always something else for you. There are numerous national parks, nature preserves, sanctuaries and places of interest associated with the islands’ history.

Popular night spots offer an allure for people wanting to have a good time under the stars, and live music shows are available almost every day of the week.

The annual Turks and Caicos Islands Music Festival, with local and international artists showcasing their talents, is also a popular event. The lineup at this show has included well-known performing artists such as Shaggy, Ashanti, Jeffery Osborne, Gregory Isaacs, Tabou Combo, Anita Baker, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Michael Bolton and Air Supply, among others.

CULTURAL EXPRESSIONS

There is also the appeal of various cultural expressions in the form of song and dance, coupled with local theatrical productions.

Junkanoo, decked out in costumes, it is often a spectacle, as they dance to the rhythm of the goatskin drums, cowbells and other handmade percussion instruments. It is a colorful and lively festival with costumes made from cardboard and crepe paper, depicting different themes and characters.

Activities of the Turks & Caicos Friends of the Arts Foundation (TCFAF) - which encourages an appreciation of the fine arts - also add variety to the local entertainment calendar, with the promotion of activities such as film festival, dance events and concerts, among others.

Folk music, songs and dances of the Turks & Caicos Islands Cultural groups also enhance your experience in the islands. So, if you are looking for options to unwind, relax and have some fun, the choices are many and it’s up to you to choose what best suits your taste.
